I am hoping that many members of the Graceful Embroidery Group Forum are working on entries for this years competition, which has fantastic prizes. To inspire you all, here is another of last year’s fabulous entries.
After a topsy-turvy year of family illness and bereavement, and no creative motivation at all, I have just recently turned to my faithful embroidery machine to gain my enthusiasm again.
For this project I combined designs from the Strawberries and Cream collection. The bee comes from the Beatrice collection. Robison Anton rayon threads were used for this project. The fabric was a medium weight poly curtain fabric. A cotton quilting fabric was used for the backing. Iron-on poly batting was placed between the layers.

The central design for the table runner is Strawberries and Cream 4-11 at both ends and the bees were edited from Beatrice 2-7. I scattered them to pollinate the blossoms.

My finished runner measured 28”x 13 ½”.

I made 6 coasters measuring 5” x 4” using embroidery design Strawberries and Cream 1-13.

Six 14” x 11 ½” place mats were successfully embroidered using design Strawberries and Cream 4-19.

Strawberries and Cream 4-2 was used for my bread basket cover. It measured 21” x 14”.

Each of the edges were finished through all layers of fabrics with 2 rows of 7mm close satin stitch. This was topped with a 6mm cross stitch. Additional rows of stitch-building finished the braided edging and I used the same embroidery thread both in the bobbin and the needle.

“Many thanks for another delightful set of designs.”
